A little over a month ago, on E3 2017, we managed only to the corner of our eyes and from the back of the developers to look at Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (She "Uncharted: Lost legacy" in Russia). The developers say that according to the initial idea, the “lost heritage” was to be a simple DLC for Uncharted 4 , But gradually the project widened and multiplied and eventually took shape in an independent game. At the same time, the authors sought to look at the world of the game with different eyes, and these eyes belong to Chloe Fraser, known to fans of the series in the second and third parts. According to Naughty Dog , The girl fits perfectly into the game universe they created, being a “hunter for treasures and a skilled fraud”.
Of course, they promise to us that Miss Fraser is from now on not just a “companion of Drake”, but before our eyes it will become a person, with his individual and prescribed character. According to the plot, and these are not spoilers, the girl will find the connection of her father with India, will be imbued with the culture and mythology of the country.
Once the father of Chloe was engaged in the study of two capitals of the Hoisal Empire, which existed in the X -XIV centuries (West Gata region). In these cities, not only evidence of the greatness of the gloomy empire, but also the mention of the golden tusk of Ganeshi were found. For this artifact and hunts "New Lara Croft".
However, not only she: the mercenary of Nadine Ross and the charismatic villain Asav with his army will also come to the fore. The latter wants to control the region as a king (and this is not for a red word – literally). In search of artifacts that they can lead to a tusk, Chloe takes the mentioned Nadine Ross in his partners. A newly -made combat girlfriend also needs a tusk, but her goals are far from discovered romance: she dreams of re -gaining control over the “coastal line”, a private military company from Uncharted 4. As a result, the Alliance of Battle Girls is not easy: at the filmcan, the first time the heroines will not like each other and even fear mutual betrayal. But in order to survive, they still have to trust each other.
Not like ubisoft
To get a tusk, Chloe and Nadin will have to find three artifact symbols: the trident of Ganeshi, the bows of the parashurama and the ax of Shiva. And at this moment, real gameplay begins, because this task is to explore the territory of Western gat, which has been untouched by Hindu architecture, which is excellent motivation. Once on a seamless location – a huge piece of jungle surrounded by majestic mountains and waterfalls – we are free to go in a jeep or go left, right, forward … Yes, at least upward!
By the way, it is especially important to walk up: from now on, the ancient towers rise above the vicinity will become the center of location. Chloe will have to conquer them not only out of idle curiosity, but also on the duty of adventure. From the observation towers, you can look at all four cardinal points to the horizon with your eyes and outline the future route. Miss Fraser will carefully draw a mark on the paper card, put the interrogative signs over remarkable points, and just admire the beauty of the gat more than once, simultaneously falling off some waterfall on a mobile phone chamber.
Yes, this is also a new mechanics, which will obviously fall into the solution of puzzles (alas, it has not reached the press show): the photos taken can be stuck at any time. Unfortunately, we do not know whether Chloe will be able to settle down against the backdrop of ancient temples and beaten enemies. About selfie sticks too without comment. The authors still vowed to make its use more convenient and intuitive, because the heroine now has to fly over the abyss along the complex, sometimes parabolic, trajectory. However, a couple of times we still ingloriously destroyed the girl, not reaching the next ledge. Crooked hands are guilty or flaws in the mechanics, we will not undertake to say to the release. But we note that it is not difficult to get off the top – there was only enough to turn a massive lever in the floor of the tower, and the floor turned into an elevator.

About the plot and characters
– Tell us about the main features of the game. What can you compare the new project with Uncharted 4?
Scott Love : Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a new game in the Uncharted series. The main characters are Chloe Fraser and Nadine Ross, with whom the players are familiar with the previous parts of the game. The plot develops in a completely different part of the world, in Western gata, in India. A new antagonist appears – ASAV, first appeared to the public on E3 in the plot trailer. In addition, we are pleased to present several new gaming mechanics. The main location in the game is Western gates, recreated at the highest level at which our company has ever worked. Each player can choose his own approach to passing the game: there are three main plot tasks that can be performed in any order, not forgetting about a huge number of side quests and entertainment.
-How spin-off is associated with the plot line Uncharted?
Scott Luv: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has its own plot, although the game is closely connected with the history of Chloe and Nadin in the previous parts. Even if you never played Uncharted, you can still play Lost Legacy, not feeling that some moments in the plot are unclear. Well, to those who are familiar with the Uncharted series, where Chloe and Nadine were present, it will be interesting to reveal the new details of the personalities of these heroines.

– Why did you make Chloe one of the main characters?
Scott Luv: Chloe was not our favorite character, but she adores the fans of the series. So, when we thought about how we want to see this plot part, it became clear that Chloe is perfectly suitable for the role of a protagonist. She has a great sense of humor and combat skills, as well as the ability to get out of alterations.
In addition, she has the skills of a fraud and an ambiguous level of morality, and all this makes her an excellent character Uncharted. Nadine, on the other hand, did not receive a detailed biography in Uncharted 4, so we decided to develop her personality. We also created an interesting conflict of characters, since Chloe loves to improvise, and Nadin is more pragmatic. They will have to learn how to trust each other and work together.
– Is it possible to say that the game is like films in which the heroes first hate each other, but then become friends?
Scott Luv: Heroes' relations develop during the game. At first they are quite stretched, Chloe and Nadine are just beginning to recognize each other and often experience misunderstanding. Their motives are not fully understood: maybe they will betray each other and will be on their own. In the process of developing the plot, the player observes what kind of turnover their relationship is accepted.
– What will be the general mood of the game? She will look like a fun adventure or a sad story about some problems?
Scott Luv: I think that, both in any journey on which you go with another person, there are both funny and serious moments, but the main thing is the spirit of adventure.
– Whether mythology is woven into the plot of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy?
Scott Luv: As you know, the plot rotates around Chloe and Nadine, but it will have the history of the Hoysal empire, and the culture of India. However, there will be no supernatural elements, as in previous games. We conducted a huge meta analysis in the history of this region.
-We will hear something about old Drake?
Scott Luv: To begin with, both protagonists are connected with each other thanks to Drake: Chloe was his colleague, and Nadine was an opponent, so he in some way affected this part of the game. But we want to devote this story to Chloe and Nadine.
– Please tell us about the new villain, asave!
Scott Luv: ASAV – a instigator of war sowing chaos throughout the region. He has his own army with excellent weapons, together they wage war and cause mass excitement. He, too, is looking for Ganesha’s golden tusk, created by the Hoisal Empire, so he has a racing prostagonist for a while. He is a very interesting character, because his character can hardly be called typical for the villain. He is inherent in calm and prudence, but he is deadly. Asav – truly amazing villain. He is voiced by Usman Ellie [ "Starter: Retribution" , "Lemoni Snings: 33 Misfortunes" – approx. Gambling], for the first time dealing with video games, and we are very glad that it is he who works on the project of creating Asav.
– Will we see other countries in the game, or all the action will concentrate in India?
Scott Luv: Yes, the game is only in India. First of all, this place is especially significant for Chloe, since it is half the Australian, half is a native of India, and this place is also associated with her relationship with her father. For the first time in the entire series, we touched on this country, which became an excellent opportunity to reveal the potential of these excellent landscapes, culture and architecture.
How to play all this
– Tell us about the new game mechanics – whether such?
Scott Luv: Most of the mechanic we transferred from Uncharted 4 (for example, transport management). This is not only an integral part of the study of the game world, but also a way to get to various places. You can use the winch to break the pounded doors or walls and open the new part of the location. Transport plays a large role both in the study of the world and in the plot branch. In addition, this mechanics are important for the narrative: Chloe and Nadine communicate, recalling the past and discussing the current plot associated with the Golden Bivnes of Ganesha, the main artifact, and the mythology of the Hoyisal empire.
– Is it true that you will need to climb on the towers every time to make marks on the map?
Scott Luv: At the very beginning of the Chloe and Nadin level, they will notice a large tower in the center of the map, which you can climb and inspect the surroundings. You can also add new sketches to the diary: for example, mark the plot fortresses and ruins of the Hoysal empire there.
-I would like to clarify about the opening of the boxes: you came up with something new in opening of chests, caches and all that?
Scott Luv: True, in UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy, in addition to a more extensive game world, will appear a new mechanics – hacking of locks. This allows the players to hack the boxes with the help of a master key and receive new amplifiers, gameplay items, collection objects and treasures.
– How much time will take for a game … on average?
Scott Luv: It is difficult to name the exact number of hours, because the player can explore the huge playing space in different ways, and this will take a lot of time. The number of game hours depends on each player. We relate to this game as a full continuation of the Uncharted series, in full coverage and scale.
About network mode and technology
– What about the multiplayer?
Scott Luv: With the purchase of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the player receives the entire competitive multiplayer content of the original game and all DLC, including the cooperative mode. If your friend has Uncharted 4, and you have Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, you can play together in multiplayer. Personal progress is preserved in both games. We also plan an update for multiplayer and “survival”, which will appear simultaneously with the release of UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy.
– Tell us about the game schedule. Will there be changes in comparison with the fourth part of the series?
Scott Luv: A considerable part of the game was created on the basis of Uncharted 4, we used a lot of technologies in the new part. Although the game was created in just a year, it seems to me that our team made this part one of the most beautiful company projects. Detailization of the game world, character design – everything is done at the highest level. For PS4 Pro, improved graphics quality thanks to HDR will be available. The scene of the game allows you to create incredible landscapes and excellent visualization.
